Access Statement for Wishing Well Cottage

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.


Sleeping up to 4, this delightful converted self catering holiday cottage forms part of the Homestead Farm estate, which is situated in the hamlet of Penhallow on the coast road between Newquay and Truro and therefore makes it an ideal location for visiting all of Cornwall's attractions The lanes nearby are suitable for walking your dog or just having a nice leisurely stroll. We are about 3 miles from Perranporth and 7 miles from Truro, Newquay. Lands End is about an hours drive. The Cottage is from arriving on the drive on the flat.

* Truro is the main Railway station and is about 7 miles (15 minutes drive)

* There are several Taxi services

* Buses are far and few

* Car is the best - because of where we are and getting around

* There is a lane that goes passed the property and is up hill but ideal for walking the dog

* The property is ideal for people with limited mobility, but not wheelchair friendly due to bedrooms upstairs

* Perranporth is the closest shopping area - or you can pre order your shopping in advance

Key Collection, Welcome and Car Parking

* I will meet and greet you on arrival with the key and take you into the property

* There is off road parking for two cars and is on a gravel drive

* There is a light overlooking the drive

Entrance to Property

* Getting to the front door is about 3 foot of cobbles and then tiled

* The door opening is standard

* There is a light outside the front door

Halls, Stairs, Landings, Passageways

* Once inside the property the floor is wood laminate

* To your left is the carpeted stairs up to bedrooms

* To your right is the tiled bathroom

* There is a light in the hallway

Sitting Room/Lounge

* The lounge is carpeted and fairly large with a two and three seater settee

* There is oak furniture - side table, nest of tables and a tv cabinet plus sideboard which has a cd/radio on it and information for the area etc

* The lighting is by two ceiling lights plus wall lights.

Dining Room

* There is level access from the lounge to the dining room which is incorporated with the kitchen and has wood laminate flooring

* There is a table and four chairs

* Behind the kitchen door is a vacuum cleaner, brush, ironing board and clothes horse

* To the left is the main kitchen area


* As above:-

* There is a fridge, freezer, washing machine & tumble dryer, oven and hob plus a microwave

* All food preparation areas are standard height

* All wall cupboards are usual height

* The sink has a mixer tap

* There is ample lighting in the kitchen/diner

Bedrooms and Sleeping Areas

* Both bedrooms are upstairs

* The one to the left is the Double with sloping ceilings and a velux window with blind and a fire regulation window to the side with curtains

* There is also a single wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets with bedside lamps, long mirror fitted on the wall, plus a chair

* To the right of the landing is the Twin room again with sloping ceilings, mirror on a stand, chest of drawers, fitted wardrobe and a bedside cabinet in-between the beds with a bedside lamp, which has the on/off switch on the wire, plus a chair

Bathrooms, Shower-rooms and Toilets

* The bathroom is downstairs to your right when entering the front door

* There is a shower cubicle to your right with pull switch for fan, to the left is a wash basin on a pedestal with separate taps, light and shaver socket above a mirror and bath right in front of large window and then the toilet

* The floor surface is tiled


* The garden is lawned and to the back of the property there is a paved patio area with a wooden table and four plastic chairs, plus a washing line

* There at two black bins for refuse

* The whole area is surrounded by a wooden fence except for the front which is stone walling and wooden fence ontop
